The Basics of Marketing: Capture Pages
So, we have talked about the marketing funnel. Lets look at the individual parts of it. Today it will be the capture page.
Hi everyone. Mole J here. I hope you are having a great Friday and you have an exciting weekend planned.
Everything starts with marketing, however we must have a website to send people to. This is your capture page, some call this a squeeze page. No matter what you call the main purpose of a capture page is get the person to enter their name, e-mail, and phone number.
You probably have a website from your company, but you do not want to market that website upfront. One reason is company websites only give features of the company. Most people do not care and will not enter their information. So, the conversion rates are very low with these types of capture pages. I used to do this,
What do you usually do when you come to a company website of a person you do not know? I usually hit the back button never to return to that site. I am sure you probably do the same. This is what the majority of people will do to your company website if you are out there marketing only your company’s website.
You need your own website to be your capture page. One that you have control over, and instead of it being about your company it should be about you. Your videos, your pictures, your story. This is part of branding and it also presents you as an expert and a professional.
No longer will you be looked at as a rep of so-and-so company, but they will know you by your name. When you do contact that person, they already know who you are.
Many offer a special gift, maybe an e-book, special report, 7 day boot camp, etc.. to get people to enter their information.
Tomorrow we will go to the next part of the marketing funnel, autoresponders. Have a great weekend.
