You have your website, but you want to get more traffic. So you search the internet and come across something called traffic exchanges, there is a million of them on the internet. The next question you may have, is traffic exchanges worth the time? If so, which one should you use?

If you are not sure what a traffic exchange is, this is a website where you build credits by looking at other users’ website. You in turn, can use the credits that you build up to advertise your website. Some have unique twists to them, but this is essentially what they do.

I do not normally recommend traffic exchanges, but I will today. That website is TrafficSwarm. Let me be clear, you will not get a bazillion of leads from using TrafficSwarm, but you will get a few leads. This should not be your only marketing technique, but it should be used side-by-side with other techniques.

The basics of TrafficSwarm are you get 1-5 credits for looking at another user’s website for 20 seconds. You then can use these credits to advertise your website. Each time your ad is shown it costs you one credit.

This is not a good place to advertise your primary business opportunity. I have done this in the past, with absolutely no results. However, if you have business products or services geared towards marketers, you just found your target audience.

It is also your favorite four letter word: Free!

Another great benefit to using Trafficswarm is it gives you a testing ground for your headlines. Your ad will be displayed just as they are with Google Adwords among several other ads. So, this is a great place to test out your PPC ads.

Go to TrafficSwarm and sign up. You only need the free version. They will offer you a pay version, but you only need the free version.

There are a few things you can do to get more credits besides click and surfing. The one thing I do is set TrafficSwarm as my start page in my internet browser. Doing this will get you one credit each time you open your internet browser. You can use the “|” in your start page address in internet options to open several sites in tabs when you open your browser. So your start page address looks like: http://www.google.com|my TrafficSwarm address.

Surfing on TrafficSwarm is very easy to do. What can you do if you do not have the time or desire to click to get credits?

If you have children, you can teach them how to surf for your credits. Maybe pay them a little extra allowance.

This is something that is perfect for outsourcing. One website to look at is http://www.elance.com for outsourcing.

You can also do this during the day when you are on the internet. Click on one ad, then go do what you need to do, come back , and click on another ad. Alternatively, when you are watching TV, just causally click on the ads.

You can also buy credits from TrafficSwarm, if you choose. It is roughly 2000 credits for $40.

There is one tip that will keep you from burning through your credits too fast. When you set up your ads, you can choose a category for your ad. Only choose one or two categories. This will target your ads more and keep you from wasting your credits on people who may not have any interest in your products or services.

TrafficSwarm is a nice little website to get some leads. This should not by your only marketing strategy, but it should be used in conjunction withseveral other marketing strategies to get a few more leads every single week.
